Make a living from home, is it possible

This is the dream of just about every american. To be able to generate an income from the comfort of our homes seems like the best possible scenario. I mean lets face it, if we all had our way we would somehow quit our jobs and work for ourselves.
The truth is, it is absolutely possible however making the transition from employee to owner can be a tricky one. Unfortunately most, if not all, of us have been programmed into a state of mind that says in order to make money in life we must get a good job working for someone else. While I am not knocking anyone that chooses to take that route, I can say that I completely disagree with that notion.
Working for yourself can be the most rewarding thing to ever happen to you in your life. Besides the fact that your overall success falls in your hands, it always feels good to get paid for something you did individually.
Now before you call your boss and tell them you are quitting to start your own company it is important that you know that in order to make a living from home, it will take much more effort than punching a time clock and doing the mediocre tasks you are accustomed to. What I see all the time is people who are totally energized about starting their new money machine, but then are hit hard by a brick wall when they realize the amount of work they must put in.
This is why before even starting out, it makes sense to come up with your “Why”. That of course is your number one reason for wanting financial independence. Having a solid goal in mind is important to have because in times of frustration it is good to remind yourself of the real reason why you are doing what you are doing. Not just to make a living but also to accomplish things in your life you’ve always wanted. Establishing this “Why” early on will help you get over these initial trying times.
Right along with establishing your solid goals upfront, it is important that you assess the many distractions in your life and rid yourself of them. As we all know old habits die hard. I have always found it easy when faced with the dilemma of either holding on to or dropping a given distraction, to remind myself of my “Why” and consider the following: will this help me get to my goal or will it hold me back.
Focus is what it boils down to. Creating time by eliminating distractions and other activities that do not lend a hand to your preferred end result is the name of the game. And of course that all starts with adopting a new mind set that is laser focused on one thing and one thing only, your “Why”. It is definitely possible to make a living in your pajamas as long you are not sleeping!
